A joint meeting of the Scientific Council of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS and the Scientific Council of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held on December 16.
At the meeting, the results of the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry for 2021 were discussed.
The event was attended by Vice-President of ANAS, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Division, academician Irada Huseynova, members of the Scientific Council of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences and the Scientific Council of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, as well as heads of current topics and works. At the beginning of the meeting, the memory of our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence.
After an opening speech the Vice-president of ANAS, academician Irada Huseynova gave the floor to the corresponding member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev to present the report. Professor Alovsat Guliyev said that in accordance with the scientific direction of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS on the topic "Research, restoration, protection, effective use of biodiversity, soil and water resources using modern approaches, creation of electronic databases and maps", for the reporting period The Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry carried out research works on 2 problems, 17 topics, 85 works and 111 stages. 159 researchers took part in the implementation of 17 topics, including 2 full-time, 2 corresponding members of ANAS, 11 doctors of sciences and 89 doctors of philosophy.
Along with the results of research work carried out at the institute, the report highlights the comprehensive work carried out, international scientific relations, the council of young scientists of the institute, as well as the positive dynamics of the work done to popularize science.
A total of 208 scientific works were published, including 163 articles, 32 theses, 5 books, 5 monographs and 1 textbook. 112 of them and 4 theses were published in foreign journals. Five of these articles were published in journals indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. Alovsat Guliyev also gave detailed information about the agreements signed this year, future plans and prospects.
In the end, the report was widely discussed, questions were answered and suggestions were made. Summing up the discussions, Academician Irada Huseynova gave instructions and recommendations to the management and staff. In the end, the Institute's performance was positively assessed and a decision was made to adopt an annual report.
